Missouri artist Andy Thomas enjoys painting a wide variety of subject matter but history and nostalgia are two of his favorites that are combined in these oil field scenes from a century ago. Boomtowns sprang up over night attracting hundreds in search of Black Gold. In his Boomtown Series, Andy Thomas revisits the dramatic growth as oil derricks populated grazing land in the West.
